If the Lessee intends to install a meteorological tower or buoy in the lease area during the lease’s site assessment term, then the Lessee will need to submit a Site Assessment Plan (SAP) to BOEM for our review within one year of the lease’s execution date. The lease also requires the submission of the Lessee’s Construction and Operations Plan (COP) within four and a half years of the lease’s issuance, to allow sufficient time for the Lessee to conduct the necessary survey activities to support the installation of wind turbines. If an adequate COP is received, analyzed, and approved (or approved with conditions), the Lessee will submit two additional reports outlining the engineering details of the facility to be installed, which will be followed by actual installation of the facility and cabling to shore.
