In July 2008, the agency published a sale announcement and related Request for Information (RFI) in the Federal Register.
On Oct. 27, 2008, the agency issued the following statement: Based on response to the Request for Information issued in July 2008, Sale 211 will be deferred a year. The Request for Information will be reissued in 2009.
Subsequently, it was decided for administrative purposes that Sale 211 should simply be canceled, and a new Cook Inlet sale scheduled. This new sale was scheduled as Cook Inlet Oil and Gas Lease Sale 219.
