BOEM entered into a cooperative agreement with the Commonwealth of Virginia to support the collection of geological information in the Virginia Wind Energy Area. Fugro Atlantic was selected to conduct the geological and geophysical survey, which will help further development of the WEA and the offshore wind energy supply chain. Field work will be conducted in May 2013 and a final report is due later this year.
