The BOEM is working to coordinate through the task force with the federal, state, local and tribal governments. The goal of the task force is to facilitate intergovernmental communications regarding OCS renewable energy activities. Files from the first Virginia Task Force meeting on December 8, 2009 are below:

BOEM convened a Virginia Offshore Renewable Energy Task Force Teleconference on Monday December 6th, 2010 at 10 AM.

BOEM will be convening its fourth in-person Virginia Renewable Energy Task Force meeting on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Norfolk. The meeting will be held at Old Dominion University’s Webb Center. Additional details are forthcoming.
In August and September 2009, two applicants submitted separate unsolicited requests for commercial leases on the OCS offshore Virginia pursuant to 30 CFR 585.230. BOEM has informed the applicants that BOEM will not proceed with processing these unsolicited requests and invited them to submit a nomination pursuant to the Virginia Call for Information and Nominations instead.
