It is possible that under certain conditions, future proposed turbines may be visible from shore. The issue of turbine visibility and any potential impacts that may be associated with this visibility will be analyzed in a separate analysis – likely an Environmental Impact Statement - which BOEM will prepare after receiving the Lessee’s Construction and Operations Plan (COP). The Lessee’s COP will specify the number of turbines that it is proposing to construct, the size of those turbines, and the turbine array configuration. This information will allow BOEM to fully analyze any potential turbine visibility and, if the turbines would be visible, any impacts associated with this visibility.
