SUMMARY
In March 2020, Hilcorp Alaska, LLC, submitted an application for a permit to conduct a geohazard survey in the waters of the Cook Inlet OCS Planning Area, Alaska. The survey area totaled approximately 228 square kilometers. Hilcorp proposed to survey the area with multibeam, magnetometer, sidescan sonar, and hi-res and low-res sparker arrays. The proposed program was to start on or after May 1 and be completed by Oct. 31, 2020. BOEM approved this permit May 1, 2020. Hilcorp, however, chose not to execute the survey.
