2 Hours Delayed Arrival - with option for Unscheduled Leave or Unscheduled Telework

Due to extreme weather in the Washington DC area (including Sterling, VA), Federal agencies in the Washington, DC area are OPEN under 2 hours DELAYED ARRIVAL and employees have the OPTION FOR UNSCHEDULED LEAVE OR UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK. Employees should plan to arrive for work no more than 2 hours later than they would be expected to arrive.

The following applies to Friday, January 19, 2018 for employees in the New Orleans area. 

Due to facility related issues caused by the weather and resulting low water pressure in Jefferson Parrish, on January 19, 2018 the Elmwood Towers and 800 West Commerce facilities will not open until 9:00 AM. The BSEE and BOEM offices in New Orleans will be operating on a delayed reporting schedule of no more than 3 hours from your normal start time. Please consult the Short-Term Emergency Call Number (1-877-883-7621) for information updates.


The following applies to Thursday, January 18, 2018. New Orleans, LA

BSEE and BOEM offices in the New Orleans area are CLOSED Thursday January 18. Employees scheduled to telework Thursday, January 18 must telework or take leave.


The following applies to Wednesday, January 17, 2018 for employees in the New Orleans area.
The BOEM offices located in the Elmwood Towers Building and 800 W. Commerce Building are NOT open. Employees are NOT to report for duty on Wednesday, 01/17/18.


The following message applies to GOM through Wednesday, January 17. (January 16, 2018)

Approval to take unscheduled leave for early departures is authorized immediately. Early dismissal is authorized to begin at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Personnel authorized for situational telework with supervisory approval are encouraged to take their laptop computers home with them. For tomorrow 1/17/2018 all New Orleans based BSEE and BOEM employees will be authorized to take unscheduled leave.
