BOEM To Host National Adjudication Workshop

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is hosting a free one-day workshop, entitled "Follow That Form: An Offshore Lease Adjudication Workshop" in Houston, TX on January 22, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST. The workshop will be held at the Hyatt Regency Houston; for room reservations please use the following link: https://resweb.passkey.com/go/BureauOceanEnergyMgmt.

This workshop will facilitate discussions on adjudication issues and will provide an opportunity for industry to interact directly with BOEM lease adjudicators from all three regions (Alaska, Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific). More specifically, the workshop will begin with an overview of BOEM's adjudication program and then proceed to a high level overview of best practices for the following agenda items:

  • Qualifications
  • Qualification Updates
  • Name Changes
  • Mergers/Business Conversions
  • Designations of Operator
  • Record Title/Operating Rights Transfers
  • Filings for Record Purposes/Non-Required Filings
  • Relinquishments

Following the presentations, breakout sessions at multiple individual tables will provide participants an opportunity to discuss offshore lease adjudication processes in greater detail. In addition, a representative from our Office of Renewable Energy Programs will be available to discuss issues related to offshore renewable energy leases.
