The 2019-2024 National OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Program provides for three OCS Oil & Gas lease sales in Alaska’s Chukchi Sea: One each in 2020, 2022 and 2024.
This sale is currently in the planning process. The fact that this planning has begun is not an indication that a final decision to hold this sale has been made.

| Dec 21 | BOEM announces that it will issue a Call for Information and Nominations relating to a proposed 2020 oil and gas lease sale in the Chukchi Sea Planning Area, as included in the 2019-2024 National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program that BOEM published Nov. 16, 2018. The purpose of the Call is to solicit industry nominations for areas of leasing interest and to gather comments and information on the area included in the Call for consideration in planning future OCS oil and gas lease sales. The Call will appear in the Federal Register's Reading Room on Thursday, Dec. 20, and in the Federal Register itself on Friday, Dec. 21. The publication of the Call in the Federal Register will initiate a 30-day public comment period lasting from Dec. 21, 2018 to 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019.
