Privacy Act Statement – SEA Notification System

This statement provides the notice required by the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a(e)(3)).

Authority: BOEM is authorized to collect this information under 5 U.S.C. 301; 44 U.S.C. 3101; 6 U.S.C. 101 et seq., Homeland Security Act of 2002; 50 U.S.C. App. 2062, The Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended; 31 U.S.C. §§ 1535-1536, Economy Act; 50 U.S.C. §§ 1601-1651; 42 U.S.C. 247d and 300hh, The Public Health Security and Bio-terrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002; Pub. L. 106-390, Robert T. Purpose: The SEA Notification System enables BOEM's EM Coordinators to send alerts to staff via communications methods such as email, texts, and phone calls. SEA will be used to distribute weather alerts, facilitate evacuations, close facilities, perform employee accountability, or the like.

Routine Uses: Your contact information is provided to the Bureau/Office COOP Team members or EM Coordinators to verify members on the contact lists. Employee lists may be shared with other authorized personnel for the purposes of employee accountability, recall, and other contingency operations as required by law or authorized under the Privacy Act and published routine uses in applicable system of records notices (DOI-58, Employee Administrative Records, April 20, 1999 (64 FR 19384); DOI-85, Payroll, Attendance, Retirement, and Leave Records, April 8, 2008 (73 FR 19090); and OPM/GOVT-1, General Personnel Records, June 19, 2006 (71 FR 35341))
