1201 Elmwood Park Blvd
New Orleans, LA, 70123
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together experts in Paleoindian archaeology, submerged prehistoric archaeology, sedimentary geology, quaternary geology, and marine geophysics to present the most current research into the Paleoindian occupation of the Gulf of Mexico region, including the OCS, and the geoarchaeological formation processes associated with marine transgression and subsequent paleolandform and site burial.
The goal of the workshop is to provide recommendations for revisions and updates to BOEM's current models, survey methodologies, and mitigations to better inform management and decision-making pertaining to submerged prehistoric cultural resources on the OCS.
