Mark your calendars for an Information Transfer Meeting (ITM) on August 22-24, 2017 in New Orleans. The Gulf of Mexico ITM began in 1980 as a way to foster the sharing of results, methodologies and ideas related to environmental studies. In a series of presentations and meetings, scientists will discuss information in support of the BOEM Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf oil and natural gas, renewable energy and marine minerals programs. Participants will learn about a variety of topics, including long term monitoring, species and habitats in the Gulf of Mexico, offshore renewable energy, marine and coastal oil interactions, marine minerals, marine assessment program for protected species, air quality, socioeconomics, applied physical sciences, and deepwater benthic geology-biology assessment.
