What: Press conference call to announce results of Gulf of Mexico Oil & Gas Lease Sale 256, scheduled for November 18, 2020.
When: Sale 256 begins at 9 a.m. central standard time, and the conference call will begin after the sale concludes – approximately at 10:30 a.m. Central Time Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Background

Tomorrow, November 18, 2020, BOEM will conduct a lease sale offering approximately 78 million acres in Federal waters offshore Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida for oil and gas exploration and development. Lease Sale 256, which offers all unleased and non-protected areas in the Gulf of Mexico, will be livestreamed to the public via www.boem.gov. The bid reading begins at 9:00 a.m. Central Time.

News media representatives are invited to view the sale via the livestream and participate in a news media teleconference following the bid reading. Officials will announce the results of the sale and answer questions.
