BOEM FY2022 Quarter 1 Environmental Studies Report Now Available

BOEM is pleased to share the BOEM-funded environmental studies report for the first quarter of Fiscal Year (FY) 2022. The report is posted to the Environmental Studies Program Information System (ESPIS). 

The report provides concise descriptions of each study's purpose, findings and how BOEM will use the research results. The FY22 Q1 report covers a range of topics, including passive acoustic monitoring, economic benefits of coastal ocean observing system, and sensitive hard-bottom habitat in the Gulf of Mexico. The reports and associated technical summaries can be accessed through ESPIS, which displays reports with geo-referencing tools, animation and other new features. 

ESPIS makes all BOEM-funded environmental studies reports available online as full electronic PDF documents, including images and graphics, as well as links to associated data portals and peer-reviewed articles. Technical summaries of more than 1,400 BOEM-sponsored environmental research projects and more than 3,700 research reports are available.  

BOEM’s Environmental Studies Program develops, funds and manages rigorous scientific research to inform policy decisions regarding development of Outer Continental Shelf energy and mineral resources.
