Virtual Information Session on Accessing and Using the Marine Minerals Information System Data

Video

Established in 2019, MMIS provides an Enterprise Geospatial Information System (GIS) environment to support BOEM leasing and National Environmental Policy Act activities. MMIS is a collection of over 30 years of geophysical (e.g., shallow seismic, bathymetry, sidescan, etc.) and geotechnical (e.g., vibracore and sediment grab locations and associated laboratory analyses, etc.) data and information products that can be used to support many ocean and coastal projects, such as beach nourishment, coastal storm risk management, mitigate space-use conflicts between sand resources and planned wind energy transmission infrastructure, and more.

This presentation is tailored for non-GIS users, basic GIS users, scientists, engineers and planners in search of marine minerals related research and leasing information.
