Imagine a future where a state-of-the-art network of small satellites, CubeSats, will track the movement of marine animals with more precision than is possible today. A new video on a BOEM-NASA study sparks the imagination to help us better understand and protect the marine environment and the animals that live there, such as whales, sharks, and sea turtles. The satellite data will be useful to BOEM, other federal and state agencies, academia, and conservation organizations concerned with protecting and conserving marine wildlife.
