One Big Beautiful Bill Act

This sale is the third of thirty Gulf of America oil and gas lease sales required by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. By committing to a predictable sale schedule, the Department is delivering on President Trump’s promise to expand American energy production and strengthen U.S. Energy Dominance.

What’s New?

On July 7, 2026, BOEM announced a Final Notice of Sale for the third offshore oil and gas lease sale in the Gulf of America (GOA) under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The sale, known as “Big Beautiful Gulf 3,” will make roughly 80.4 million acres available for leasing across the GOA, advancing President Trump’s commitment to increase domestic energy production and strengthen U.S. energy security.

In support of the BBG3 Lease Sale, BOEM is proposing to offer approximately 15,100 unleased blocks in the BBG3 Lease Sale, ranging from 3 to 231 miles offshore, across the Gulf’s Western, Central, and Eastern planning areas, at water depths between nine feet and more than 11,115 feet (three to 3,400 meters).
