SUMMARY

In February 2026, Palmerosa Mining, LLC, applied for a permit to conduct geological prospecting activities for gold and silver on the Federal OCS in the Norton Sound Planning Area, Alaska. Palmerosa is proposing to use a tracked remotely operated vehicle (ROV), equipped with a suction dredge and attached to a 77-foot vessel. The ROV would operate on the seabed in approximately 60-90 feet of water and collect the top 1 to 3 feet of seabed along multiple prospecting track lines within the proposed area. Activities are proposed to take place from August to October, 2026. The prospective permit has been designated G&G Permit 26-01.
