MarineCadastre.gov

MarineCadastre.gov is an integrated marine information system that provides legal, physical, ecological, and cultural information in a common geographic information system (GIS) framework. This tool is extensively used by Federal agencies and others who are screening alternative energy sites, and by people working on regional and state marine planning efforts.

  • Ocean Reports: Draw a custom area anywhere in U.S. waters or pick from a predefined list of locations to get instant custom reports. Reports include descriptive infographics and supporting data that can be used for offshore planning, permitting, environmental review, public relations, and more.

Renewable Energy GIS Data

The Renewable Energy Program develops, maintains, and uses GIS data for a wide range of activities related to planning, assessment, and environmental review of renewable energy projects on the Outer Continental Shelf.

Marine Minerals Information System (MMIS)

MMIS is a state-of-the-art tool to assist decision-makers in managing coastal recovery and planning coastal resilience projects. Key features include more than 30 years of BOEM-funded geological and geophysical research data; data from more than 40 partners in federal, state and local government, academia and other entities; a viewer with more than 20 available data layers; sediment data offshore 18 coastal states; GIS-mapping capabilities; tools to download data into geodatabases, shapefiles, or .csv files; statistics on sand volume, number of projects, number of states, and use trends; and links to environmental studies and assessments, as well as data from state cooperative agreements.

Environmental Studies Program Information System (ESPIS)

ESPIS makes all completed Environmental Studies Program (ESP) reports, including images and graphics, available online as full electronic PDF documents accessible using free Adobe Reader software. Technical summaries of over 700 BOEM-sponsored research projects and full PDF documents of over 2,000 research reports are available for online full-text search.
