MarineCadastre.gov is an integrated marine information system that provides legal, physical, ecological, and cultural information in a common geographic information system (GIS) framework. This tool is extensively used by Federal agencies and others who are screening alternative energy sites, and by people working on regional and state marine planning efforts.
- Ocean Reports: Draw a custom area anywhere in U.S. waters or pick from a predefined list of locations to get instant custom reports. Reports include descriptive infographics and supporting data that can be used for offshore planning, permitting, environmental review, public relations, and more.
- Other Resources: View the MarineCadastre.gov data through a national viewer, regional and thematic maps, and story maps.
The Renewable Energy Program develops, maintains, and uses GIS data for a wide range of activities related to planning, assessment, and environmental review of renewable energy projects on the Outer Continental Shelf.
