BOEM invites you to an upcoming New York Bight Renewable Energy Intergovernmental Task Force on May 9, 2018, in Newark, NJ. This region represents an area of shallow waters between Long Island (to the north and east) and the New Jersey coast (to the south and west). The meeting will be held at the following location:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an update on BOEM's commercial leasing process for the New York Bight, present preliminary data and analysis that will inform the Area Identification (Area ID) process, and provide states in the region an opportunity to update the Task Force on state initiatives and activities.

As a reminder, the BOEM New York Bight Renewable Energy Task Force is an intergovernmental group. Task Force members include Federal officials and elected state, local, and tribal officials, and/or designated member representatives. The NY Bight Task Force is comprised of both the New York and New Jersey Renewable Energy Intergovernmental Task Forces. In addition, two representatives from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Virginia and Maryland will be invited to participate. Members of the public are invited to listen and there will be an opportunity for questions and comments during the meeting.
