New Jersey Activities
BOEM will hold the next New York Bight Task Force Meeting on November 28, 2018 in New York City at the Hotel Pennsylvania. Meeting materials and announcements, as they are developed, will be provided on this website.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) hosted three public meetings in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts to discuss feedback received from a recently published Call for Information and Nominations (Call) for potential offshore wind energy leasing and development in the New York Bight. The meeting presentations may be found below:
Call for Information and Nominations
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) published a Call for Information and Nominations (Call) on April 11, 2018 to obtain nominations from companies interested in commercial wind energy leases within the proposed area in the New York Bight. This region represents an area of shallow waters between Long Island (to the north and east) and the New Jersey coast (to the south and west).
In addition to nominations, BOEM seeks public input on the potential for wind energy development in the Call Area. This includes site conditions, resources, and multiple uses in close proximity to, or within, the Call Areas that would be relevant to BOEM’s review of any nominations submitted, as well as BOEM’s subsequent decision whether to offer all or part of the Call Areas for commercial wind leasing.
The comment period closed on July 30, 2018. All responses will be reported on http://www.regulations.gov.
