Welcome to BOEM Science Notes. We hope to keep our community of stakeholders informed on our ongoing research as it is taking place in the field. Each issue of Science Notes will feature a BOEM study or other item of interest. As always, thank you for your continued interest in our programs.
The November Science Notes covers the first year of broad-scale research on protected species abundance and distribution in the Gulf of Mexico, including marine mammals, seabirds, and sea turtles from Brownsville to the Florida Keys.
This issue of Science Notes is devoted to the ongoing survey of marine mammals and seabirds on the Pacific coast and across the Hawaiian Archipelago -- the Pacific Marine Assessment Program for Protected Species, or PacMAPPS.
This issue of Science Notes is devoted to the results from the largest survey of marine protected species on east coast, the Atlantic Marine Assessment Program for Protected Species, or AMAPPS. BOEM develops, funds, and manages rigorous scientific research such as AMAPPS to inform policy decisions on the development of energy and mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf.
