One Big Beautiful Bill Act

What’s New?

On Nov. 7, 2025, BOEM announced a Final Notice of Sale for the first offshore oil and gas lease sale under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The sale, known as “Big Beautiful Gulf 1,” will make roughly 80 million acres available for leasing across the Gulf of America, advancing President Trump’s commitment to increase domestic energy production and strengthen U.S. energy security.

In support of the BBG1 Lease Sale, BOEM is proposing to offer approximately 15,083 unleased blocks in the BBG1 Lease Sale, ranging from three to 231 miles offshore, across the Gulf’s Western, Central, and Eastern planning areas, at water depths between nine feet and more than 11,115 feet (three to 3,400 meters).

Survey Parameters:

A new requirement for Lease Sale BBG1 includes the submission of a Survey Parameters spreadsheet (in addition to the GDIS). 

A sample spreadsheet and blank digital copy in Excel format are provided for your reference and suggested use. Please download, complete, and submit the Survey Parameters spreadsheet along with the GDIS and your bid.
